HANOVER, MD – Fivestar, LLC, event operator for the 2023 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Basketball Championships, proudly announced the renewal of title sponsor Lids, the number one retailer in sports fashion headwear, for the second year. Lids has become synonymous with MIAA Championship celebrations with every champion wearing Lids caps to receive their title.

 

This year’s championship event will be hosted at CEI Arena at the University of Maryland Baltimore County campus in Baltimore, MD on Sunday, February 26th, to include the A, B and C Conference championship games.

 

“We are thrilled to be working with the Fivestar team for the second consecutive year, building the profile and exposure of this great event,” said Paul Bernstorf, Executive Director of the MIAA. “The decision to centrally locate these games in a state-of-the-art arena like CEI with its expanded capacity, parking and enhanced production capabilities will make this event a must-see competition.”

 

The one-day event will feature a triple-header for a one-ticket price of just $15.00 for students, $20.00 General Admission. Children five years of age and younger are complimentary. A select number of VIP courtside seats with hospitality will be available for purchase for $79.00, just inches from the action.

 

For those unable to join at the stadium, all three championships will be streamed on ESPN3 and ESPN+.

5:00PM:   A Conference Championship

The game will be announced by industry greats Scott Garceau and Jimmy Patsos. Scott Garceau, Dean of Baltimore Sports, has spent 40 years in TV, radio, and digital. Also, presently the play-by-play announcer for Baltimore Orioles baseball on MASN. Jimmy Patsos, the effervescent former coach of Loyola University and the NCAA Champion Maryland Terrapins basketball programs will be the color commentator, along with Brent Harris manning the sidelines and bringing fans key interviews and insights during this year’s games.

 

Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online in advance. Walk-up tickets will be available for purchase dependent upon remaining seats available. Tickets will be on sale at MIAAChampionships.com via TicketMaster starting February 10th.
